April’s whisky of the month is the Knockando 12 year old; a delicate, sweet malt whisky. A fine Speyside malt using the clearest spring water, malted barley, yeast, a tiny amount of peat and hint of sherry cask. It is delightful served with a drop of water on ice.
A distillery born in 1898 on the river Spey in the village of the same name at the height of the Victorian whisky boom. Each bottle bears a vintage of a single season ensuring that it receives reviews that are consistently good.
