The Bar

The Bar at Muckrach has been designed with a whisky bar in mind. Low lighting, tub chairs and unique wall art complement the handmade bar created by Highland Joinery.  Over 70 whiskies, 30 gins, local beers, Champagne, wine and spirits are showcased on the lit glass shelves that stand proud as the main feature wall in the Bar.  There is a Grazing menu to be enjoyed all day, with choices such as Calimari, Haggis Bonbons and Olives & Feta.  The cocktail menu has some classics, Muckrach specials and a few mocktails to choose between.

Whisky

We have more than 70 whiskies in our collection and hope to keep growing it.  Many are locally distilled in Speyside, although we have some great whiskies from other regions of Islands, Highlands and Lowlands, each with its own unique taste.  We have a whisky of the month for you to try to showcase a different whisky and its tasting notes.  There is also the Muckrach whisky in our collection aged 10, 15 and 21 years for you to try.

Gin

Gin is becoming as fabulous as whisky in its variety and taste.  There is most certainly an explosion of unique distillers in Scotland that need to be celebrated.  In our Bar there are more than 12 Scottish gins to choose between, many from small artisan distillers across the region.  Locally distilled Caorunn sits alongside Shetland Reel produced in the Shetlands and Rock Rose gin created in Caithness.  Each gin has its unique flavours that can be enhanced by different fruits and tonic.  We now have a Scottish tonic to add to the Bar for a real Scottish G&T!

Cocktails

Choose between cocktail classics such as Mojito, Cosmopolitan, Bloody Mary and Kir Royal or venture towards some Muckrach specials such as Flowerberry soda or Muckrach Whisky Cream.  For those of you that prefer the non-alcoholic alternative we also have a selection on non alcoholic Mocktails such as Highland Sunset and Rockshandy.

Grazing menu

To complement the Cocktail menu, Head Chef Rayner has developed a Grazing menu to enjoy in the Bar.  Choose between Calamari & Alioli, Haggis Sliders and Spanish Chorizo Sausage, prepared fresh by Rayner’s team of Chefs.
