Ski season in the Cairngorms

The ski season in the Cairngorms National Park has officially begun.  Snow has been falling for over a week and conditions have been great for parts of the mountain.  On the 12th December Cairngorm mountain opened; open for skiing and boarding from then for the season.  It will be a limited offering to start, with an available 2 miles pisted route from the Top Station, Traverese, 105, Zig Zags then Lower Slopes or Home Road back to the Day Lodge. All other areas are unmarked and unpatrolled. It will just be the Train for access with no middle stops. First Train scheduled for 10.00am and half day prices will apply (check the Cairngorm Mountain website for pricing details). They will work on opening more terrain and uplift as the snow increases.

As the ski season in the Cairngorms opens it is worth watching their Facebook page for updates, to keep on top of the best skiing/snowboarding available.  Exciting for everyone involved this year, even more exciting for Muckrach Country House Hotel next year!  Winter sport season 2015/2016 could be even more awesome with a stay at Muckrach, as the ski resort is only half an hour away from both the Cairngorm Mountain and the Lecht ski resort.

Muckrach Country House Hotel opens in May 2015 as a 4 star 11 bedroom Victorian Shooting Lodge, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.  When the ski season begins in the Cairngorms, you could enjoy the warm and luxurious surroundings of Muckrach by night, and enjoy the thrill of the mountain by day.  Muckrach has a Coffee Shop, Restaurant, Bar and a private dining room to restore energy, comfortable beds to sleep in and a drying room to dry off your outdoor wear, so the next day you begin refreshed and ready for the powder action!
